Using a Testosterone Supplement to Lower Risk of Alzheimer’s Disease

A study conducted by the National Institute of Aging has found that older men with lower levels of free testosterone may be at a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Because of this, some health experts are suggesting that the addition of a testosterone supplement along with diet and lifestyle modifications could be beneficial for some men who are at a higher risk of developing the disease.

The study included 574 men ages 32 to 87. Their testosterone levels were measured over an average of 19 years. Researchers found that for every 50 percent increase in testosterone in the bloodstream, there was approximately a 26 percent decrease in the risk of developing Alzheimer’s. By the completion of the study, men who were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s had less than half of the levels of circulating free testosterone as men who didn’t develop the disease.

Adding a Testosterone Supplement to the Diet
Although research is still being conducted to show a direct link between low testosterone and Alzheimer’s, some men are already choosing to increase their hormone levels by taking a daily natural testosterone supplement. Unlike prescription hormone therapy which can produce a variety of side effects, a testosterone supplement helps enable the body to naturally produce more of the hormone.

A Proactive Approach to Combating Alzheimer’s Disease
For some men who have a family history of Alzheimer’s disease or who have confirmed that they have the Alzheimer’s gene through genetic testing, taking proactive steps to fight off the disease can provide reassurance. These steps include increasing physical activity, adopting a healthy diet, and getting adequate sleep. They may also help increase testosterone levels. By adding a testosterone supplement to these steps, many men are able to substantially increase their testosterone levels and potentially decrease their risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Tackling Depression with a Testosterone Supplement

Do you suffer from bouts of depression? If so, you’re not alone. Nearly 10 percent of men have feelings of hopelessness, despondency, and/or guilt that result in a diagnosis of depression. And, at any given time, about three percent of the population is experiencing a major depression. For Americans between the ages of 15 and 44, depression is the leading cause of disability. For many, antidepressants are the recommended treatment option. However, for a growing number, natural treatments such as a testosterone supplement along with individual or group therapy are just as effective.

For many men, depression goes hand-in-hand with a drop in testosterone. In fact, men with the lowest t levels had about four times the chance of being diagnosed with clinical depression. This explains why depression most commonly appears in men during middle age when hormone levels begin to drop.

In recent years, there has been a substantial increase in prescriptions of synthetic testosterone being given to men who are experiencing depression. However, this form of hormone replacement therapy comes with substantial risks – including an increased risk of prostate disease and cancer.

Testosterone Supplement Formulas to Combat Depression
Men suffering from depression, who are at risk of developing prostate cancer, are often advised to use a natural testosterone supplement to augment other treatments for their condition. These treatments often include therapy, exercise, meditation, dietary modifications, and more sleep.  By taking this multi-pronged approach to tackling depression, many men are able to overcome the debilitating symptoms of depression.

If you are suffering from depression, it’s essential to discuss treatment options with your physician. You should look at all treatment options, including taking a testosterone supplement. With the right treatment plan in place, you’ll have the best chances of overcoming depression and returning to a healthier, happier life.

5 Body Hacks, Including the Use of a Testosterone Supplement, to Increase Testosterone Naturally

Men suffering from low testosterone levels are increasingly experimenting with testosterone supplement formulas. These along with a few other strategies for naturally boosting testosterone can improve sexual function, muscle mass, and overall well-being. Let’s take a closer look at some simple ways to jumpstart testosterone.

Natural Testosterone Supplement
A natural formula, such as T Male from Nature’s Plus, provides nutrients that can help support healthy production of testosterone in men. Unlike synthetic testosterone replacement, a natural testosterone supplement delivers no risky side effects.

Weight Loss
Dropping a few lbs can make a big difference when it comes to testosterone production. This means sticking to a low-fat, low sugar diet with a limited number of refined carbohydrates. Some new studies have shown that intermittent fasting may also help boost testosterone levels – decreasing calorie intake to under 1,000 for one to two days per week.

High Intensity Exercise
Short, intense workouts seem to have more of a positive effect on testosterone production than prolonged aerobic exercise. This can include swimming, sprinting, or biking in short, fast bursts.

Strength Training
Dead lifts, squats, and other strength moves can increase testosterone – particularly when combined with high intensity exercise.

Decrease Stress
Higher levels of stress increase the hormone cortisol which blocks testosterone from working as it should in the body. For men trying to increase testosterone, a testosterone supplement and increased exercise are often not enough. A lifestyle change that includes stress reduction is necessary. Learning relaxation skills such as meditation and deep breathing can improve overall well-being and in turn testosterone production.

When you’re ready to improve your testosterone naturally, developing a plan of action is necessary. Starting with a high quality natural testosterone supplement is a good start. And, by incorporating a well-balanced diet and regular exercise to the mix will provide the best chance to see healthy increases in testosterone.
